Sally Murphy is a business communications consultant and coach.
I grew up surrounded by strong women who loved to tell stories, in a home with books in every corner.
My degree in English Literature at Queens University, Belfast, led me to my first real job, at the Galway Film Fleadh.
Soon after I became a Mum to my gorgeous sons, putting down roots in Donegal. Officially the coolest place on the planet!
Several years working with Donegal County Council sharpened my skills in project management, communications & culture.
The next chapter brought me into Derry, working with the team at Void gallery. We curated for the UK City of Culture, established award-winning learning programmes and engaged with incredible international artists.
Time passed as it does. My boys grew tall and I began to listen to the entrepreneurial voice whispering dreams in my ear.
And so in 2016, I founded Murphy Communications. I had no concept of what lay ahead - the challenges and triumphs that would take my breath away.
Now full-time, my business has beautifully evolved to become Welltold and I get to do what I love - helping good people and projects shine.

Last but not least…
I want to help people tell better stories because
I see story as the foundation of all successful strategic communication- it has to come first.
I know that everyone has the ability to use narrative as a tool - if they know how.
I believe in the power of story to create change - and for me, this is the most important point.
The world needs good people to stand up and use their voices to make a difference.
